Dear Burger Junior High School Families,
It is with great excitement and gratitude that I introduce myself as the new principal of Burger Junior High School. I am truly honored to join this incredible school community and to have the opportunity to serve our students, families, and staff. I look forward to getting to know each of you and working together to ensure every student has an enriching, engaging, and successful junior high school experience.
Throughout my career, I have been driven by a passion for helping young people discover their strengths, overcome challenges, and reach their fullest potential. I bring more than 20 years of experience working with students and families in a variety of roles. I began my career as a leader in a community-based organization, where I partnered with families and community members to support youth development. Since then, I have served as a school counselor, assistant principal and freshman academy director. Each of these experiences has strengthened my belief that strong relationships, high expectations, and meaningful collaboration are the foundation of a thriving school.
My educational journey has also prepared me for this role. I earned both my Bachelor's and Master's degrees from SUNY Brockport. In addition, I completed a Certificate of Advanced Study in Mental Health Counseling from St. John Fisher University and a Certificate of Advanced Study in Educational Administration from SUNY Brockport. These experiences have shaped my approach to leadership by emphasizing the importance of academic excellence, student well-being, and creating supportive environments where every child feels valued and empowered.
As principal, I am committed to working alongside our dedicated staff, our families, and our community to create a school culture where every student feels safe, respected, challenged, and inspired. I believe that education is most successful when schools and families work together as partners. I value open communication, mutual trust, and shared responsibility, and I encourage you to be active participants in your child's educational journey.
My promise to you is that I will work hard every day to support our students, listen to our families, and lead with integrity, compassion, and a commitment to excellence. Together, we will celebrate successes, address challenges, and continue building a school community where every student has the opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive.
I am excited to begin this journey with you and look forward to meeting many of you in the coming weeks. Thank you for welcoming me to the Burger Junior High School family. Together, I know we will make this a remarkable year for our students.
